Hi, I’m Becky Bates.
I’m an experienced maths teacher with a genuine love of maths — and I bring that energy into every session. My goal is simple: help students understand the “why”, feel confident, and make real progress (without the pressure).
After having to leave the classroom after 9 years of teaching due to health conditions, I decided I needed to find a way to still spread my love and expertise of maths with students. I decided to set up my own maths tuition business.
My expertise lies in teaching GCSE and A-Level maths and getting students exam-ready. I taught in an outstanding sixth form college for 7 years, teaching GCSE resit and A-Level maths, and I am also an examiner. I offer a range of 1-to-1 and small group sessions to ensure my services support different budgets.
Each session is planned meticulously to ensure students make as much progress as possible. I strongly believe that maths should not be stressful and strive to make sessions relaxed and calm.

Lessons are tailored to the student’s needs — pace, style, topics, and confidence level.
Sessions are online, so students can learn from the comfort of home — wherever they are.
Cameras and microphones are encouraged to build rapport, but it’s never forced — we’ll do what feels comfortable.
